Welcome to My Journey
Here, you'll find real stories and reflections from my life. It's about honesty, laughter, and lessons learned.
To Blog or Not to Blog that is the question
Who are you? Why do you think you can do this? What have you achieved in your life that gives you the right to do this? Well, you know they are all interesting questions and thank you for asking.
For years, I have been someone that has worked in the background. I guess I felt I was someone that hadn't achieved much that people wouldn't be wholly interested in what I had to say or what I could give. My uncle has said to me a few times, you should write a book, which I have but I know I have at least another 2 in me to write or maybe more. As I have spoken to people over this last year, I have come to realise, maybe I do have something to offer.
I have always been in awe of motivational speakers as well. People who get up on stage, not to be centre of attention, but to help and guide and motivate people into a better mindset. Jokingly people have said I should be on stage, more from a comedic view point which would be a whole heap of laughs. I remember reading a saying from Mark Twain "in 20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't by the ones you did do", he also said "never regret anything that made you smile". This has been going round in my head for sometime; DO I REALLY WANT TO BE ON MY DEATH BED THINKING "why did i not just do it" Was I too afraid of what people will say or not say. I do think people mock other people out of fear and jealousy because of their own insecurities.
I am 47. I have experienced a lot in life. Good, bad and indifferent.
All photos {except me stopping to smell the flowers} were taken by me.
Not sure who penned this beautiful saying "Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happiness, bad days give you experience, worst days give you lessons and best days give you memories"
Here I am now, taking my life experiences, memories and the ramblings of me and putting them down and maybe just maybe someone will stumble across the blog and they will smile because it reminds them of something or help with their own healing or a simple cry to let the hurt and pain go and move on with their life so they don't have regrets.
And finally to leave you with another contemplative saying from an unknown author "Do something today that your future self will thank you for. Our actions and decisions today will shape the way we will be living in the future"
